8:23 That museum is open from 4PM to midnight. Also, you need to make a reservation first, because it is a private museum and owned by the founder's family (grandchildren), so a reservation is needed so they can open the door for you and guide you through the exhibits.

We had a Taiwanese friend who studied in the USA and she now lives in Taipei. Her business is a success so she took my wife and I, hired a private tour guide and she came along with us as a gift before we went back home .. Juifen is amazing and we say many hidden gems through the entire day fro the geopark to Juifen, hidden old mining areas, etc. very kind of her .. best way to see Taiwan we missed ..

I was surprised to see both Brandi and Alan ate soup dumplings (小龍湯包)without dipping them in the ginger and soy sauce. You might try it next time to see if you like the taste better. A-mei tea house absolutely has unparalleled views of the scenery, but the price is exorbitant ( at least $10 person ) except for the die-hard fans of spirited away. Alan and Brandi have done an incredible job editing the film, capturing the beauty of Jiufeng with the background music. No stones have been left unturned, and they also included intricacies of old streets. Alan also gave a history lesson about the area as he always did in all places they traveled. I will keep watching and staying tuned for fear of missing out (FOMO).

Jiufen/九份 is a famous scenic spot in northern Taiwan, and there are really many tourists! You both are really great, it's hard work to be able to walk there!
Congratulations on finding that lovely hanging ornament, it should have been there waiting for you for a long time!
It's a pity that I didn't see you eating Jiufen's most famous taro ball, maybe it was in your lost video!
If you didn't try it this time, please remember to try it next time!
Thank you for shooting Jiufen so beautifully, you are really talented, thank you very much for sharing! 👍🥰🙏
P. S. Taro balls were developed in 1946. Until the 1970s, an aunt sold ice products near Jiufen Elementary School.
Due to customer requests, taro balls were added as a condiment. With the promotion of tourism, it became a famous local snack!
In fact, only the purple material is taro, and other colors represent different ingredients, such as sweet potato, mung bean, yam, sesame, and matcha!
Besides taro balls, Jiufen's "Hakka rice cake" is also very famous!

The Xinyi vlog is probably still my favorite of your TW series, but I think this one is the most aesthetically pleasing! You really killed the photography on this one: from the street shots to the landscapes/drone shots to the inserts/closeups, you have a wonderful eye for finding beautiful and interesting subjects/frames/angles. On top of that, really nice and vibey music choices throughout. Thank you for taking me on a dreamy 18-minute mini-vacation back to one of my favorite spots in Taiwan!

"Spirited Away", which is well-known in Taiwan, is the most widely known scene that is considered to be based on the scene of Jiufen Old Street. Although Hayao Miyazaki mentioned in an interview that this is just a misrepresentation, the actual location is Japan's "Dogo Onsen Honkan", but Jiufen has also become a world-renowned tourist attraction because of this kind of publicity.

That white chicken dish is my favourite! Amazing scenery and as students we often go there for the evening: drinking tea in one of the tea houses and enjoy the sun set. Your camerawork is wonderful.

Can I expect a video on Yehliu (野柳) and Shifen (十分) haha😆? There's the Jinguashi Shinto Shrine near Jiufen that may worth a visit, with some Japanese touch and an aura of ruins. It takes twenty minutes to hike to the Shrine though.

I remember about 25 years ago when I was an university student, I travel there with several classmates, and we go out at night, the scenery in the night was so beautiful, unforgettable

I finally got around to watching this video. I need to play it on the TV for the full experience. Once again, a beautiful video, I can see your artistic eye throughout. I remember you making me watch Sprites Away so I am not surprised you visited here when you had the chance. I love being along on your adventures even when I can’t be there. ❤❤❤

The one you’re looking for is a private tour at night and you have to make a reservation beforehand. I would recommend you to visit Ginquashi Gold Museum not far from Jiufen. There’s also a Geopark nearby where you could find mysterious scattered rocks. Golden waterfalls and 13 levels ruins is also in this area.

That chicken dish is served cold so the meat is firm and the skin is elastic and chewy, but it’s normal that everyone feels differently.

Always appreciate your spirit of adventure, you lead us to see to feel the major and minor places, not just tourism 😊
