2:13 That's actually how moving blocks behaved when pistons were added. And yes, it was useful, and then they broke it.

because some kid wanted to put flower pots on them? shows the state Minecraft is in, but can we really be surprised?

The one thing I'm afraid of if it ever gets fixed. The bedrock breaking trick using headless pistons is the only method so far that has stood the test of time and works on more than just Vanilla servers. I'm afraid if the bases of the pistons were solid blocks during the expand-retract phase it would break this methods since they would actually be there for the shockwave from the TNT blast to hit them.

I didn't realize this was considered a bug. I just figured "oh, pistons change state when their state is changed, so that sort of thing can't be on them". I didn't realize that downwards pistons only popped them off when retracting though, interesting! If this was changed (which I sort of wish it isn't due to how trivial it would make some designs), you could make some SERIOUSLY compact farms!

Thanks for showing the 0 tick with a button, it allowed me to create a 4 way flying machine that can turn in the air

Xcom's fix is really nice. I assume it would fix rail duping (since they wouldn't pop off) while keeping tnt duping in the game. That would be nice for quarry tech.

The stuff stays on Topf 😂 Nice, während du einen BlumenTOPF in der Hand hattest, wow.

I'm gonna suggest MC-95720 here because it's a bug that has been in the game since the SSP/SMP merge in 1.3 and that happens multiple times a minute to almost everyone placing blocks, just usually doesn't get noticed.

Oh wow. I just found this bug today. What a coincidence that is :D

I find it quite amazing, and laughingly so, how little effort Mojang tries to get away with, putting into this game, even after having been paid billions of dollars by Microsoft for this game. If I were William Gates, I'd be wanting my investment back! Thanks for sharing this. #LazyMojang

I like how you show the bug and offer ways to fix it. I think it would be cool for thing to stay on pistons and on slime blocks but I don't agree with the buttons popping off for zero tick. I just think it wouldn't make much sense if it were the only thing that did pop off, making it inconsistent. Do you think Mojang should add what PE has for moving chests, furnaces, and dispensers using pistons and sticky pistons(don't know if slime blocks should be included)?

1 Person doesn't like the person who wanted to put a flower pot on top of a piston

Why is there a llama up ontop the Bug of the Week sign?

sounds like a nice way to make a torch key

Something to add to your modification, I feel like dust and buttons on pushed blocks should stick to them.

I want that modification, and I bet Mumbo and the other Redstoners in Hermicraft would to.

Hmm... I don't like the inconsistent behaviour but I don't know what behaviour I would like, instead. I don't think there's anything wrong with making the game better for builders and, as pistons make nice tables, putting flowerpots on them is desirable behaviour. A sideways extended piston is not a full block so it makes sense that things pop off when it extends. What really doesn't make sense is the downwards facing piston popping off objects only on retraction. If the extra Redstone options afforded by placing these objects is intended and desirable behaviour, maybe the block36 animation placeholder needs a solid upper surface. If it is only flowerpots, maybe it should simply be the case that they can 'float' (same placement rules as jack'o'lanterns?)

My brain just stops me from thinking I can put this stuff over pistons and I always use solid blocks to pass rs signal. No big issues for me, but the inconsistency in the game is laughable always!
