Other anime reviewers: Dudes! It’s good!!
PedanticRomantic: How do I love it? Let me count the ways *continues into soliloquy*

I can't tell, did you like the movie or not

Last year I made a 2.5 hour roadtrip to see Koe no Katachi. I have learned my lesson. "Yamada Naoko films" are now included on the list of driving impairments that leave me in such rapture that it becomes unwise to make a 2.5 hour night-time drive back home. As much as it pains me; I will likely have to have to wait till the home release to see Liz.

Liz and the Blue Bird is a different level of anime. For those that can stomach the art house style and the slow cooking pace Naoko Yamada delivers another masterful punch in the stomach using the barest material and the most intimate tone. No drama here, just let the film gently push you and ... forget about driving immediately afterwards.

ThePedanticRomantic talking about Liz and The Blue Bird sounds like me when I talk about To the Moon and it's sequels.

Yet another addition to my warehouse of reasons why I want Naoko Yamada to direct my dream anime.

1:23 I'm fucking dying, this guy's expression just screams "you fucking serious? You want me to turn this hipster bullshit of yours into music?"

Liz is easily the best part of the Hibike franchise in my eyes. It's not even close. Wow I really want to rewatch this movie. I was blown away at the AX screening, and I've been dying to see it again since then.

All I have to say about that comment regarding Zeria:

It's such a lowkey story that I'm genuinely floored and elated that there are so many videos (and people!) out there who recognise that this film is a true masterpiece and work of art, and I've been thinking about it a lot, and from both a technical and emotional point, it's completely perfect.

Sounds like a pretty worthwhile anime to watch. The animation is really smooth and captured the frame of beauty and the feeling of a song that played on each frame of movement.

I'll just wait for a DVD release. Thanks for making a video about it to get me noticed on it :P

I'm so pumped for your up coming Wandering Son video! Like, not to say it's my favorite anime, but it's my favorite anime. I laughed and cried (mostly cried) all through out it and the animation style was so beautiful. Not only that, but the OST is one of the most beautiful things I've ever had the privilege to hear. Even though I can't remember having major gender issues in my life, the characters were still relatable and their struggles were something I felt a large amount of empathy towards. I'm also kind of blessed to own one of the copies of the manga. It was for sale on Amazon from a goodwill (a thrift store) and I was able to get it for a little less than 20 dollars. Every other copy I could find was insanely priced (I'm talking 50-100 dollars). I just love the series as a whole and can't wait to see your video on it.

It's utterly amazing when such videos are uploaded on YouTube. Please keep being such a genuine fan of the medium, and such a laudable Youtuber.

am I about to embark on another pilgrimage to see a Yamada film?? Maybe?
Is it 100+ miles away? yeah.
Do I care? I think not.

Wow big praise! Big shoes to fill now! Was gonna see this regardless but I'll try to re-manage my expectations so I can hopefully be surprised and blown away regardless.

Such depth of unabashed praise and love for something warms the heart when one sees it. No showings in this state, but I'll make a priority to see it when I can.

Saw the premiere at anime expo and for any one who may be thinking this video is hyperbolic, it’s not.

So you'd give it a soft 3 out of 10, am I reading that right?
