This is great! Not many people talk about it but in my opinion, music can be just as dangerous as other addictions, it really made my maladaptive daydreaming much harder to avoid.

Music in excess can take you away from reality and cause you to be in fantasy land and it’s better to be in reality music some is fine cause it’s music but it’s a depressant which means it will make you feel good while you listen but bring your mood back down after which is scary

As a music teacher, I think it’s a great addiction to have.

I had to look up the topic of the video because lately it seems that I’m the last person in my age group who still listens to music like a high schooler who makes it their entire personality-which as an adult can be problematic
Adding to the addiction, music is so readily available all the time, it’s really hard to avoid when trying to focus on “real” or “adult” topics. Even when clearing my mind for example going for a jog with no music or the daily tasks of cooking/cleaning my mind does nothing but think of music

Music was my first addiction. I didnt have a good childhood, and I used music to fill the silence that comes with being the child of a working mom. I was afraid to share my music with people because my preferred music is the cursed “dubstep” genre. So not only am I always listening to music, I never share it in fear of people judging me— kinda like a drug addict.

Even as I write this, the video’s paused and I’m about to start playing music because this work silence is driving me insane. I literally get too overstimulated when I hear too many prople talking, too many sounds, but unfortunately the world is nothing but noise. It’s a frustrating cycle to be in- you need the music to be comfortable, but obviously you can’t take it everywhere.

Not any more worse than being forced to listen to horrible music for 9 hours straight for 40 years.

Two points. First thank you very much for this video. The world is flooded with music. I can't even fuel my car without having music coming from the pump. Your voice of reason is appreciated.
Second, here is another psych topic for you to cover: Why can people no longer talk without flapping their arms in time to their to their words. Some extremists seem to flap their arms for every syllable they utter. Look for yourself and see how difficult it is to find a video of someone talking who isn't flapping their arms (one or both).

My family says I always have my air pods in and I’m always listening to music unfortunately they wouldn’t be wrong
At home I have music either playing in the background or when I’m walking to the store or to Starbucks
An I also listen to music on long car or plane rides

Yeah it's things like that is why I'm grateful of reducing listening to music.

It's also related to the fact that it's syncopated as well, have the ability to give us a gonadotrophin release without needing it.
