I think Dana does not want a fighter thats on their way out of the UFC to ruin the hype of someone that can still be fighting longer. What he wants is to transfer Jon Jones hype to Aspinall, not to risk hurting Pereiras Hype. He thinks Aspinall can beat Jones and even if he losses to Jones its not the worst outcome for the UFC, but he cannot aford for Jones to ruin Alex hype and not transfer any hype to Tom.

Pereira KO's Jon horrifically in a striking match. Jones was so slow and sluggish, and his defence was dreadful. But it's MMA and Jon probably outgrapples him. I'd love to see it though. Maybe after Jon loses to Aspinall.

If Jon doesn’t fight Tom he will likely still go down as the best but there will always be that question. Personally I think when Jon first met Tom in person at that event a while back he was taken back by how big Aspinall is and Aspinall even tried to son Jon a little bit by patting him on the shoulder. Believe it or not i think Jon is intimidated by him and would have to dig deep mentally to be ready for that fight and most of his fights he makes look easy. Nobody wants to see Jon go down and fight someone smaller with a clear disadvantage in the ground game it’s weak ass shit. I actually believe Jon beats Tom as well and will make it look easy but I don’t think Jon’s sure. Also if we know anything about Dana he makes the fights the fans want. He knows this fight has to be made and it will get done. No super fight Jon, no fun fights, and give Tom the chance Shogun gave you. You were younger, bigger, stronger, taller, longer, and Shogun had a million fight miles on him and he took that fight with you when u were a replacement for Rashad. Do the right thing Jon
