2004 S500 Mercedes Key Fob communication issue FIXED

Hello everyone, another DIY here for you guys. My Key Fob stopped working out of nowhere and it made me go crazy trying to figure out what's wrong. I hope this video helps you guys. After checking and changing the keyfob batteries I went looking for blown fuses. I found fuse 78 located on the passenger side dash blown. Problem solved. Have a great day guys. I put a dime on the end of the 2 batteries on the negative side to make a tighter connection . Before it would only work randomly but now it Works great .I have a 2004 e320.

Thanks for your vid. I have a similar problem, but only with one key. The "spare" key works! I took the fob apart, check it visually, cleaned it, change batteries, but still wasn't working! Would you have any idea, what may fix that?

I have a 2002 S600 with the same issue --- I only have 3 fuse boxes and dont have that one on the passenger side. Any ideas or help? Really would like to get my car up and running.

Thank you Peter. I tried everything... new car battery ( needed one), new battery in keys... still nothing. Took out fuse (7.5) and it was bad. I replaced and it blew again. I tried a 10 amp and it blew. I only had a 20 amp, so I tried and it worked. The car sits at a vacation home about three weeks a month. Any suggestions? Thanks Again!

Hello Peter.... when I click the button on my key the lights will be working but the doors and the trunk won't lock nor unlock so I have to use the mechanical key to open the car.. Do I have the same problem that you are explaining in the video.... Thank you and I would really appreciate your response. Btw my car is a 2001 cl55 amg luxury sport

Hi, I woke up to the key turning but no ignition on a 2001 s600. Can you tell me where the 78 is located for this model? My fuse diagram only goes to 77. Also the lock fuse that you mentioned. I just got a new transmission and drive shaft I can't afford another costly fix if I can help it.

Have an intermittent problem when I insert key in ignition, sometimes it clicks and I can start immediately and at other times it takes a while...also my Central locking with the key doesnt work and fuse is fine...any idea why this is happening? Thanks
