It may seem obvious, but it is not. Water wells are crazy cool - and yet can be problematic.

Pardon my ignorance, but how exactly does water get inside a water well bucket? Wouldn't the bucket just float on top of the water once you lower the bucket down the well?

I have seen wells in which instead of going down they go to the sides. Why is that ? Is that helpful?
