Greece is crazy indeed. You have no idea. Greece is stupendously beautiful and has extremely diverse natural beauty. And I'll tell you why. Greece lies on 4 tectonic earth plates that come together in Greece. The European plate, African plate, Asian plate and a 4th plate that was crushed in-between. This explains Greece's extremely complex geography and topography and it's 80% mountains. THIS in combination with the fact that Greece's extremely complex geography is surrounded by sea, means that the essence of Greece is: A mountainous land surrounded by the sea.

Now imagine what this extremely diverse geography entails. Not only a extremely diverse mainland but it's surrounded by 6000 islands. From 80% snow-capped mountains all the way to 16.000km of most crystal clear coastlines on earth. With the only natural palm forests in Europe, a whole arc of volcano's, a complete geological paradise, the most untouched rivers in Europe, a whopping 400 wetlands because Greece's geography is so wild, that almost all of its rivers flow naturally into the sea. To 800 natural hotsprings which is some of the most in the world which again has to be thanked on lying on 4 tectonic earth plates. To 15.000 caves, and highest biodiversity in Europe.
