Carlos Hathcock, a Marine who fought in the Vietnam War is one of Americas most well known snipers. He is credited with 93 confirmed kills, had a $30k bounty on his head, shot an enemy sniper through their scope and crawled for days to get in range of a high value target.

I went to Marine Militarily Academy for a semester, I read a book about marines in Vietnam, maybe specifically about usmc snipers in nam, can’t remember, but I remember reading all about this dude and his stories and accomplishments. That’s a bad bad man lol. They wanted him GONE!! For good reason.

Snipers in Vietnam were a different breed they literally would drop of snipers behind enemy lines and they would be in 2 man squads some times completely alone and be out in the jungle for weeks or longer behind enemy lines trying to engage high valued targets and find viet kong tunnels or massed forces and have to evade capture and if a sniper was caught oh boy would you wish you were dead beacuse they did the worse things to enemy snipers that were caught it’s absolutely crazy

Honestly I feel like snipers don't get enough credit. Were it not for Sabaton I wouldn't have known about Francis Pegahmagabow or Simo Häyhä. There is no Sabaton song for this man so I didn't even know of his existence until just now
