In this video we discuss about the movie "The King's Man," Conrad presents a white feather to his father, which historically symbolized cowardice for men who did not participate in war. This was based on a real-life phenomenon called the Order of the White Feather, which aimed to shame men into military service and was successful in achieving its objective, but sometimes the wrong individuals were targeted.

Only after the Vietnam war did "White Feather" become a name that inspired fear and awe.

They ended up having to make a sort of medal for men working in war time industries (think bomb production) to show they were already helping the military even if they weren't actively fighting cause too many were getting white feathers and causing issues for logistics

They shame people for litterally not having a deathwish like they're walking that path with a smile on their face

To stand up to being called a coward, and remain at home took a different kind of courage. When everyone hates you for not wanting to kill other young men or needlessly die for the sake of politics, you’re walking an almost biblical path.
