Nice work, I'm waiting for the release edition and some form of standardisation on the boot enviornment before I jump in, but a 6502 with direct access to screen functions and memory from assembler is my jam.

If making brilliant videos isn't keeping you busy enough, make more memes. Your humour cannot be contained.

Received my Rev B NEO6502 today. I knew what hardware I was getting but as you mentioned not too much info. Found your video today a great help. So its comes loaded with Apple ][ goodies ProDos Bitsy Bye program launcher and a few games. Monitor, Basic and still exploring more. It does need a Developers Guide and tools required or supported. I did a lot of assembler way back with KIM 1 CBM PET C64 etc at 77 I am a bit slower so your video has opened up my knowledge a bit more. As soon as I came across NEO6502 it was a must have the shipping cost more that the NEO! Todays plan is to find out how to call the reset vector so I don't have to power boot. Next to find the UF2 loaded so if I stuff it up I can reload. Look fwd to a new video on the Rev B.

I looked at the repo. Did you have the pin 40 (Busconnector) to pin 3 of the ten pin connector?
It should be done for correct functionality.
But it looks like it works without the connection.
There are 2 versions of SW V4, one with Microsoft Basic (including Apple ][ half compatible mode), the other one with EH-Basic only.
My Neo came with v3 installed.
The only thing i am missing at now is the missing USB keyboard support.

Mine actually had firmware already installed when I received it. I have reflashed it since.

I think the idea of using the modern microcontroller as mostly a (very) cheap source of RAM and ROM does a better job of keeping the spirit of a retro computer than the Agon.

Is it using the rp2040 flash as the ram or the onboard sram?

What is the bus speed? I bet you could play RF audio using the external bus connector as an antenna. :)

The Sym-2 single-board computer with the 6502 CPU was my first computer in the late 1970s. I still have it but not sure if it still runs. From memory, it cost $400 at the time.

My question is what is the advantage of buying one of these over just getting a Raspberry Pi or the like and running emulation?

Looks good for the price
- but would have been better with a 'C816 or 'C265!

Or can you just use the Arm CPU instead?

Pretty much all the Z80's made by Zilog (now owned by LittleFuse) have been rendered "Last Time Buy" with last orders to be placed some time this month, so Argon is soon to evaporate.

If you want a Z80 it will be by emulation only, unless someone decides to make some under license.
