He was trying to distance himself as far as possible from that incident, his one saving grace being the bond he formed with Ashley saying, "Thank you for rescuing me."
But yo, I wanna believe he conquered his biggest fear of the dead in that hallway, after Chris left to save Rebecca. The guttural shout through his teeth was unforgettably inspiring!

I empathize with Leon a lot, I have ptsd from completely different stuff, but it really sucks and hurts when someone brings up stuff like Rebecca did. I know she didn't do it with bad intentions but still.
