The “that’s the way I heard it” takes me back to the days of my childhood sitting with my grandfather listening to Paul Harvey… and now you know the rest of the story… and I LOVE it!! Thanks for sparking a core memory.

A few lifetimes ago, my husband and I got a job cleaning out the storm sewers in a newly constructed subdivision. The village wanted about a thousand pounds of wet construction clay removed from the storm sewers before they would annex the subdivision. All my husband and I had to work with was a one gallon bucket tied to a rope. Early one morning, when the construction crews were pulling onto the job, my husband and I came crawling up out of the storm drain. We looked like the mud monster from the movie "The World Beyond". After we explained what we were doing in the sewer, someone yelled, "Call Mike Rowe!" 😂

Having listened to many podcasts by Mike and Chuck on my IPhone, all of which I've thoroughly enjoyed, I came upon this tonight and it was wonderful. As an 85 year old widow, watching this on my computer, it was delightful listening to men's voices telling great stories at my kitchen table. I miss deep voices and especially the laughter. Bless you both!
P.S, I've read all of your Mother's books, Mike, loved them of course, can't wait for the new one coming out. Your contributions to the world are much appreciated.

Have only recently become a fan of podcasts and LOVE this one!! Mike is a born story teller and of course his voice is amazing! Every podcast is a treat.

This episode reminds me of the best complement I ever received as a performer. We had no set, no costume, no makeup, almost no props. In front of people who knew me for years. They told me "I didn't recognize you."

Modern actors need to learn to become invisible again.

I love Mike Rowe. The man has always been an entertaining part of my life, and now to learn more about his history, rise to fame, and dedication to his passions it really cements how much I value the attention I afford him with his new endeavors.

Great Job Mike, I’m glad your podcast is taking off.

Mr. Rowe, don't take this wrong way. I love playing your podcast to fall asleep, but I rewatch it the next day.

Any Mike Rowe a good day. As someone whose abopted San Francisco as his hometown, he repeatedly discusses fixing it & hasn't given up on true demonstration of love for one's home.

I love Mike’s catalog of clichés and segues. They flow so effortlessly and appropriately, and they make me laugh out loud constantly. Such a brilliant, witty mind! Thank you!

I struggle with separating an actor's politics with their art and I'm not afraid to admit it. I don't need their political opinions. It's a big turnoff for me.

Another fabulous podcast. We saw Mike's movie, Something to Stand For, and it brought tears to our eyes more than once. I strongly encourage everyone to go see it.

My wife and I went to see Something to Stand For. First, the method of telling the stories is fantastic! So entertaining. We were engrossed the whole way through. I hadn't heard a couple of the stories before and my wife hadn't a couple of the other. We had so much fun the whole way through. We would go to another.

And if I may say, hoping you take this in the spirit in which it is intended, I've been on a bit of a Paul Harvey binge since seeing the movie. Thanks!
