Thanks Holley for the explanation. I now have a basic understanding of turbo. So I have an equally basic question, I'm sure. I noticed the intercooler on your first example was mounted in front of the coolant radiator and air conditioning condenser. Wouldn't this significantly heat the air and cause elevated engine temps by sending warmer air through the coolant radiator? I am also sure the turbo effect also greatly increases engine temp alone! Thanks again!!!

So the oil has nothing to do with the turbo...?...

Go ahead and buy those turbos. Just wait until one fails and the rear of the engine has to be torn apart to get to it. Just more hi tech junk, like CVT's, that are great until they fail---and they do fail!!
