IMO one huge trend that is going to reach mainstream next year is Computer Vision. The likes of automated driving will be applied to several different industries - will be used for recognizing objects, people, actions and intentions.

It's old tech but until recently it was too slow to be considered in more complex scenarios.

I watched this early 2020 and now again. It is such a great prediction for UX. & UI and it’s funny how some comments had no idea of what’s coming. The user experience (UX) needs to be considered for how people are using these technologies, how they behave and what they expect from them. The interactive visuals that are designed in these screens (UI) needs to take all of that into account to make it possible for the user to interact on the task, game or scenario and how they want to achieve it (or learn) in the most pleasant way.

I started playing around with Crystal some years ago by installing this AI tool on a simple website to get predictions on when to post on the site based on usage. Sounds simple I know. But now Crystal integrates into data lakes and can be a fully AI assistant helping enterprises solving and predicting complex questions and save a lot of money using AI. It’s a cool world to get into working with AI.

Machine learning presents me with YouTube Ads of AJ & Smart Workshop like 50 times. They are the very ads I don't skip, lol

I love the idea of VR becoming more popular but I think it has a long way to go until it is properly consumer ready. There are just way too many hurdles in terms of user experience at the moment like price, space, motion sickness, hardware, etc. I'm excited for it because I don't think good UI has properly been defined in 3D space yet and I'd love to see what us designers come up with in the future!

I completely agree with these predictions. I'm more excited about AR emerging in the mainstream and AI finally being a standard expectation in any app experience. VR, on the other hand, seems to show its strengths in entertainment environments or simulations for training. Ultimately I believe AR is the bigger story. So many existing experiences can be dramatically improved with AR and it's going to lay the foundation for Apple's Glasses to become the replacement for the iPhone. Great video thanks for sharing!

AR is already a thing in the art/illustration scene. 
VR its a 50/50 for me, because it seems that every year should be the year of VR but then nothing happens.
AI will be the true star for me, this technology will be essential for medium to small businesses.
