Excessive animations of everything is the trend i hope to fade away soon. It wastes your time as a designer and is annoying and exhausting for users. Animations should feel like a reward, something to sweeten the deal, not something that keeps stealing your focus, using your mental energy so much. If there are ever options on apps/websites to disable micro animations, I always do. They're only cool at the end of some longer tasks (like registration, purchase, adding some post etc) or as a one time introductory thing.
