Freeze dried Starbursts are also a game changer.

Unfortunately, you can't make freeze-dried Starbursts without a costly freeze-drying machine ($1500 on the low end). It's best to buy them online or at a local candy store if available.

However, _frozen_ Starbursts, are also a game-changer and can easily be made at home.

Freeze-drying candy removes all the moisture and also makes it brittle and crunchy. However, Starbursts already have a low moisture content. So, if you just plain freeze them for at least an hour, they'll become brittle, crunchy, _and chewy_ (since they still have _some_ mositure).

Also, Starbursts are taffy-based and naturally resistant to freezing. This means no matter how long you freeze them, they won't become rock hard and shatter your teeth. Instead, the first bite always results in a satisfying crunch that's chewy on the backend.
