Those that survived the Great War inside the underground shelter known as Vault 11, had escaped nuclear Armageddon, only to be presented with another threat. Now that everyone was securely locked inside, the Overseer stepped forward and announced that each year, one of them would had to be sacrificed to satisfy the vaults mainframe, and if they didn’t then the entire vault would be destroyed. Hearing this confession enraged the survivors, their new home that had just saved them from sudden death was now, for some unknown reason, wanting one of them each year to take their own life.

I think if instead of killing the sacrifices they just kept them in a hidden portion of the vault, never allowed to see anyone else ever again (or until they decide to stop sending people) that it would've been exceptionally interesting. Like you have the one experiment where you're watching people sacrifice each other and then you have the other side where the people who were sacrificed realized it was all a sham but have no way of telling the people above.

I'm not so sure why the overseer was so surprised. I feel like that outcome is pretty much guaranteed if you put any group of people in that position.

Moral of this story: use difficult passwords and two step authentication

I just went through this vault for the first time the other day and was so immersed. Walking back through the vault and seeing all the posters on the walls while listening to the survivors audio logs was surreal and creepy as hell

The logs regarding the first overseer (or "first sacrifice") are honestly chilling. The thought of some leading figure (the overseer) being forced down a long passage leading to his death, wheeping all the way, just gives me a sick feeling.

Horrific, yet brilliantly written, vault.

Vault 11. The most interesting, as well as atrocious vault in New Vegas. This was probably one of Vault Techs cruelest experiments on people. As well as what it tells us about humanity in the Fallout world.

The story of vault 11 would've made for a great Twilight Zone episode

I always visit this vault in my playthroughs of New Vegas because it's my absolute favorite.
Also: the way the Vault-Tec "Happy Trails" slideshow ends with "Imagine what joys await you in the afterlife. Can you see them? Good." followed immediately by the screen shutting down and the doors sliding open to either side always makes my heart jump every time. And the fact that the recording for their refusal says "Here at Vault-Tec, your safety is our number one priority" is so absurd I always chuckle to myself because of how ridiculous that claim is, seeing all the other vault experiments as well as this one.

Among the most interesting vaults in my opinion. The tale of Vault 11 was definitely one of my personal favorites in the Fallout series.

Something that's always kinda bugged me though, is the method of execution. It's weird that the executions were actually planned to happen when the vault was only meant to be a social experiments, and it's weird that the method itself is overwhelming firepower, instead of something like gas or an electric chair.

First time I saw this vault, I kept thinking there would be a secret section of the vault that the sacrifices were sent to live in, unable to communicate with the original side. That the two sides would be studied to see how the "sacrifice" side developed as a society. Would they be angry? Bitter? Or would they be relieved that they no longer had to live with this fear over their heads?

I was a bit disappointed when I got to the end of the vault and found that the sacrifices were indeed killed.

You've filled a gap in my heart for storytelling that I thought I had lost when ShoddyCast stopped uploading storyteller videos. You have the voice for it, the video layout for it, and not to mention the pacing for it. I've watched all fallout lore videos from you so far and it just keeps me wanting more and more. You have a knack for this sort of thing and I honestly can't wait for another upload from you. This is truly the stuff of wonders.

The path should have just led outside.
The irony being they were trapped within and those they thought were being condemned to death were in actuality the only ones to be set free from the self made hell.

Probably the most devastating Vault experiment out of all of them. Thank you for doing this video too, Synonymous - these lore videos are amazing to share with people! I've gotten a friend into Fallout because of your vids!

The Vault 11 concept sounds like it could be a real Sci-fi show

Side note, one of the Justice Bloc members is voiced by Steve Blum.

This would be one of the best lore around a single vault, next to V13

Haven't been in Vault 11 in like 8 years but that log of that woman being borderline sexually assaulted to save her husband's life still haunts me to this day
