What Does It Feel Like To Be Struck By Lightning? | NBC Left Field

What does it feel like to be struck by something five times hotter than the surface of the sun? At the Lightning Strike and Electrical Shock Survivors Conference in Virginia, many survivors believe they live with an "invisible illness," which causes migraines, chronic pain and other ailments that prevent any semblance of normalcy. Steve Marshburn, who was struck in 1969, started the survivors group for the rare few who have had an electric charge run through their bodies—and lived to tell the story.

I've had a cooler in my window of my apartment that was luckily unplugged, and the lightning went through it lighting up my window in the second story of my apartment complex. I woke up and heard a loud sound and felt a electric pull that locked me in place, then the lightning went back to the clouds and I passed back out waking up the next morning and took the cooler out of my bedroom window.
