Love the vids. But clearly a bunch of people don't actually hear words in the video. Clearly a chunk of viewers did not hear you state the person you brought the fish from verified the pond would be the same temp as what he or she holds them in. Second one person didn't hear that you mentioned the particular breed of carp on breeds in streams. Also you probably already have crawfish in the pond. Over here we have yabbis and they will travel over land etc to get to the right water area.

The crawfish are probably already in the pond. They don’t take over the ecosystem. They provide food and cleaning abilities for the pond. Big bass and other larger fish eat them too, so they are a good thing to have. They keep the small bait fish and dead things in check too. 🦞😄

It was a bit surreal seeing so many fish just streaming out from those buckets into the pond, haha! And you got a bonus critter too!
As somebody who's kept fish for 12 years now, I will say just a couple things.
Take out any dead fish from the initial die-off after transfer. In my experience they typically don't get eaten and sometimes carry illness so they shouldn't be eaten by other fish. Often the smell can attract predators too.
I would highly recommend a small air pump for Dolly's water trough. It will keep the water's oxygen high and the chance of mosquitos, damselflys, and other insects trying to breed in it lower. Might even want to try a simple sponge pump while you're at it. Pretty easy to DIY and the benefits are numerous. I believe there are actually solar air pumps out there too, so you won't have to run electricity.
Last piece of advice I have is to make sure you've got equipment to monitor the chemistry of your pond. That way if anything happens(like an unexpected algae bloom or die-off), you have a way to figure out why it happened and how to fix it. (Also, don't do test strips, do chemicals, they're way more accurate and last much longer.)
Best of luck with your fishy endeavors! I hope everything's going well out there for y'all. I'm excited to see what happens next week!
Best wishes from somewhere in Missouri.

As a crab owner, I felt the intro in my soul. It's tiny, it won't hurt at all, right. I have one that refused to be hand trained

My biggest concern is that those fish really seemed to be unhealthy. That could be due to (A) too long in the cooler and they ran out of oxygen, or (B) they come from unhappy stock tanks. If it is (A) then they were stressed by the journey, and those that live through the ordeal will be fine. If it is (B) then you may have introduced parasites and problems to the pond that will not be so easy to eliminate. Judging by the vigor and health of the crustacean, I'd think it was probably (A). Fun-fact, you could also put feeder goldfish in the pond. Those are carp also, and my experience with feeder goldfish is that they grow FAST, and their colors are AMAZING after only a week or two in a pond. Just a thought. But you might try some Carp. Might even try to buy a few dozen very small Koi

I don't Know the oxygen levels in the pond but a fountain would oxygenate the pond meaning less fish casualties. you can get solar aerators to

Try not to hold the entire fish or caress/rub down the fish's bodies it runs off their slime coat and that can open up an area in the fish for diseases

If I may you have algae not moss in the water. This is caused by high organics and nutrients. Water plants should help absorb the nutrients. Fish release ammonia and they add to the nutrients of the pond. Also adding fish to the water buckets without any plants means that you get bad water quality for the livestock.

Wow, that is a lot of fish! So are you going to set up a little fish pond? That is so cool! I love you guys! I also have an idea maybe you guys can make a gorge for a mini river so that the fish can reproduce?

To be completely honest, I have nothing but respect for you and your wife. To be able to take care of 3 children, so many animals, the farm, edit videos like this and upload them for our entertainment takes so much work, especially when your wife was dealing with newborns. And to do all that, on a daily basis..meanwhile I feel lazy to wake up and go make myself a cup of coffee in the morning..

Been a subscriber since you had about 40k, and even though my schedule wont allow me to watch every single video of yours, when I do, it brings nothing but joy to see your adventure and lives unfold!

You need an air bubbler to keep the fish alive in the cooler
