Amy your home is just stunning. That view from the window of pastures with a fence and cows!!! Amazing. What a beautiful painting that would make for your home. Hi Amy. Light is important to me too. So because we're in a neighborhood, privacy is a must. I settled for fabric roller shades, which go inside the window casing, so if you have beautiful woodwork, you're not covering it. You can still have lots of light shine thru depending if you want room darkening or not. Also blinds can be installed inside casing. Just some suggestions if you don't want drapes or curtains. Love your new house.❤😊

We also built a farmhouse style home with a wide wrap around porch. Our splurges were, we did have hardwood floors installed in our entire house except the basement. And we have mahogany porch floor. Those were our splurges but I love your floors, we should have checked them out. We just had the porch stained again and have also had the hardwood floors refinished. It's a huge job. We put in a beautiful in ground pool too. We did what you are doing. 2 years after we moved in the basement got done. We have another family room, a bar, a billiard room, office, kitchen, full bath and a workshop and my husband did an amazing job. He did everything but the electrical work, heat and AC. He built the kitchen cabinets, did all the sheetrock, taping etc. and built incredible built in bookcases. We had a wonderful builder, my husband couldn't do all of that. But he's very handy so the basement is all him. I love it! It's awesome! Your home is absolutely beautiful, enjoy it. It's all a process. My one and only regret was not doing a large pantry. But we would have had to give up the fireplace in our family room. We have 2 fireplaces on the main floor ( family room and living room) and one in the basement. Your fireplace is gorgeous!

I would definitely wait for the new stove. I bet it will be beautiful. If it gets too close to the holidays, and you need a stove to bake, you could always get a used one and then sell it after your new one comes in. Your home looks lovely.

Absolutely love your house! We had to wait a couple months for our stove and ended up using our camping stove on the back porch just to be able to have a stove of some sort. It actually worked well!

I love that you are waiting to make your improvements for when the time and budget allows! No use rushing into anything and getting into extra debt just to speed everything up. May I ask how large your property is? It’s just beautiful!
