Another great video. I really appreciate that you take the time to go through all these studies and break them down for us normal people. People get so moral and superior about diets and it helps no one. I teach food preparation and nutrition in schools and so much of our time is spent addressing the vast amount of misinformation that is out there.

Cardiovascular disease markers improvement and actual unclogging of arteries are two quite different things... A whole foods plant based diet is indeed the only diet that has been shown to be able to do this so far. I'm not saying that no other diet could, in fact I personally imagine that any low fat whole foods diet with lots of plant based foods probably could do this, even if lean meats, non-fat dairy and/or egg whites are included, it's just that it hasn't been proven yet. You really can't equate mere improvements in some markers to the actual unclogging of arteries, that is quite disingenuous.

apparently the LCHF diet had more than 100grams of carbs...not really LCHF is it?

Hi, Layne, I appreciate your knowledge on fitness and health topics a lot. I want to ask you the following: Is metabolic health really a scientific term? If yes - how is it defined and measured? If no - well, I'd like to know your opinion why? :)

5 feet and 11 inches male here. I follow a 100% ultra freestyle flex diet, just keep the calories low and always count them. After 4 months I was able to achieve "normal" BMI (from upper overweight) and i so far i was able to mantain it. I am really concerned i will gain all back LOL and be among the 95% LOL. Fantastic channel.

Flexible diet is fine. Eat whatever you want but be an adult about it... Which means eat responsibly and healthy for the most part. That'll keep you at your set point. Want to lose weight? Eat at a deficit. Want to gain weight? Eat slightly above your set point. It's not rocket science. Listen to Layne. Ez Pz.

I can stick to the pizza diet best, it's the best for me. Just kidding I agree I've experimented with a few different eating habits (don't like the word diet) and found the one that works in a way that I don't even need to think about it.

I wonder if the quantity of omega fatty acids ingested had anything to do with the lipid panel improvements on the Mediterranean diet relative to the other diets.
