For anyone stuggling with the linuxserver jellyfin image not showing the part where you put in the id of the GPU do the following (only works when 1 gpu avalible). 1. Edit docker container and click, add variable, Name: NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES Key: NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES Value: All Default value: All (i think all can be swapped for the id of the gpu itself!)

If you're reading this in 2022, and you're a moron like me that's struggling to get it working, here's the problem I encountered, and the the fix:

1. Nvidia Visible Devices not showing when installing Plex/Jellyfin.
Manually add this variable:
Name: Nvidia Visible Devices
Key: NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES
Value: **Enter your GPU ID**

2. Transcoding fails if you try to use hardware transcoding.
Check that the GPU ID value doesn't have a space at the front. If you copy and paste directly from the Nvidia Driver page, it can copy with a space at the front. If you have a space before "GPU-532623....", it will fail. I tried so many fixes before stumbling upon this one, and now my Jellyfin and Plex are transcoding perfectly.

As of Jan 24, 2022: when installing the Plex container by linuxserver, I don't see the nVidia Visible Devices setting. Am I doing something wrong?

Huge Thanks! I gave up trying to utilize the GPU for a Gaming VM, and wanted to put it to use. It transcodes much better when it doesn't need to compete with the CPU, especially with certain subtitles that aren't compatible! <3 One episode I could barely run I can now run almost 6 with zero issues!
