Morning Ragas: A Hindustani-Carnatic Jugalbandi- Lalit and Shubhapantuvarali
Показать описание
Presenting a beautifully meditative Hindustani Carnatic Jugalbandi - one of the most challenging pieces to perform, brilliantly rendered at the 2015 IndianRaga Fellowship!
CLARIFICATION: Since the video was uploaded, our artists realized that the presentation here is inspired by the Jasrangi Jugalbandi concept, but is technically not a Jasrangi Jugalbandi. We are grateful to our audiences for bringing this to our attention and stand corrected.
A Jugalbandhi is a collaboration between the Carnatic and Hindustani styles, both forms of classical Indian music. Through this piece, artist Lalit Subramanian explores the Carnatic ragam Shubhapantuvarali and Jai Sovani Garud enriches the piece with her rendition of Hindustani raag Lalit. They are accompanied on mridangam by Akshay Anantapadmanabhan and on tabla by Ashish Deshpande.
The mood of this collaboration is brought out through the pensive, yet melodious tone of the artists. The similarities and differences between both styles are brought out through the creative aspects of the piece.
