Big Jake: World's Tallest Horse - Guinness World Records

The tallest living horse is Big Jake, a nine-year-old Belgian Gelding horse, who measured 20 hands 2.75 in (210.19 cm, 82.75 in), without shoes, at Smokey Hollow Farms in Poynette, Wisconsin, USA, on 19 January 2010.

Big Jake was measured three times with the same measurement recorded each time. He is owned by Smokey Hollow Farms of which Jerry Gilbert is the manager.

Saw a big horse like this one at the LA County Fair yesterday. His name was "Hercules" and let me tell ya, I'm 6'3" 1/2, he made me look like a midget!!! Good thing they're so tame and dossil or they'd tear up most everything

I saw a young Belgian rear once, it was awe inspiring and terrifying at the same time. It was probably a 2 yr. old and already probably taller than 16 hands, and when it reared...yowza...it's handler calmly pulled on the lead and he came down from rearing and walked off with him...it made me catch my breath!
