Few people will bother to this degree. Thick chain locks are the way to go, and if you can't - then use two locks (not worth the time or effort). As far as lock picking goes, people with lock picking skills aren't going to bother stealing bikes and motorcycles in public if they can get into people's garages and homes.

Youll never make a bike impossible to steal, the goal is to make the next guys bike more worthwhile. If my £1, 600 bike is parked up with both chains on, a cover and an alarmed disc lock, the thieves are gonna take the gsxr with one chain from the next street

Best advantage chain have over other lock system is they are moving during grinding. That is way when you pin your bike you must pay attention for chain not touch the ground. If you take care for it then even grinding go much slower. Possible to the point when grinder lost energy or burn disk.

Higher mangonese content and galvanized coating would help alot.... also clamping a alarm lock that activates with motion/vibration to the chain helps too... then add brake disc lock and an airtag to track your bike, and also have a great big f'ck off machette for when you catch the cu-n'ts ;D

put a small motion bike alarm on the chain in the fabric, it will alarm when they start grinding or move it around

I never understood the point of these massive chains. They're only as strong as the weakest point, which is a thin exposed piece of metal.

Happens in London all the time, people don’t stop them but get phones out to film lol. I’ve seen a chain cut, bike lifted on to van and off they went all in less that a minute on my cctv on house opposite in broad daylight on fairly busy street too ! The cops didn’t even show but gave a crime number to claim off insurance, didn’t want y see my footage or anything !

The point of a chain like that isn't to make it impossible to steal. It's to make it hard or inconvenient enough so that the would be thief moves on to something else. And a angle grinder grinding away for a solid minute isn't exactly subtle or quiet.
