Sir Keir Starmer has signalled he would carry on taking gifts from Labour peer Lord Alli amid a backlash over his wife’s clothes.

The Prime Minister insisted there was a “massive difference between declarations and corruption” as he faced questions over his alleged failure to register high-end clothing given to Lady Starmer by the prominent party donor on time.

Chartered Accountant and tax lecturer Rebecca Benneyworth joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

In 2022 when Starmer was asked about how much tax he has paid he was evasive on it and suddenly he went on to dodgy on it yet he was avoiding tax. Starmer is deranged. Get this thug and whole Labour out now. Enough of his lies.

Could you imagine if a Tory or ReformUK prime minister acted like Starmer. Because have you noticed there's no calling for Starmer to resign. I think he should, he clearly has no clue how to act, run or change Britain for everyones benefit. Personally I would like another general election, but at the very least Starmer needs to go we've just endured 14 years of the Tories. Within weeks it's clear Labour under Starmer is worse.

Accepting gifts should be classed as accepting bribes

Get this individual OUT…..he’s gained the accolade of the most unpopular PM in the first three months of any prime ministers tenure…..disgraceful.

Starmer must go. Very bad for our country. He can twist and turn to try and convince us that everything is above board. He is an absolute disgrace and a total grifter.

What about his pension? You need to investigate why there is an Act of Parliament to protect Starmers pension from the taxman.

Yes, they donate to foundations to get a tax exemption, and have an interest via a couple of proxies. This is standard practice for freeloaders like Starmer.

If you get a company car to use you are taxed as a benefit. He and Reeves should also have to pay tax on accommodation in 10 and 11 Downing street.

Glad to see the media finally wake up on Starmers tax situation. Surprised the Telegraph and Times have avoided the subject. Wonder why?

The man (Starmer) is an absolute disgrace. He clearly knows little about ‘leadership by example’.

To do something trivial and irresponsible in the midst of an emergency; legend has it that while a fire destroyed the city of Rome, the emperor Nero played his violin, thus revealing his total lack of concern for his people and his empire. Sound like anyone you know ?

The British taxpayers employ him, the politician's seem to have lost site of that.

All of them who have accepted more than a couple of tickets should be investigated. Its scumbaggery imo.

Its a load of rubbish. As far as I am and most other people benefits in kind are taxable. He not going to stop. One you get stuff without paying for it, it becomes a habit. He's been hooked for years - and it was all hushed up.

Usually taxable as a ‘Benefit in Kind’ - the value of the gift should be considered income

The very first thing the next government (Reform) should do is to repeal the Act that gives this dangerous traitor a tax free pension.
