Elite Wet Vax Hack

I payed 75 quid for this wet vax (fantastic value from some random sale at wickes i think). It works, its half decent but for cars the nozzle arm was too long and not designed primarily to get into footwells for use in a car. So I hacked the nozzle from the George unit to use on the Vax 6131. It seems to work REALLY really well so far..

George Fish tail wet vac nozzle

Vax 6131 (check local hardware stores for sales and deals etc)

The Karcher Puzzi is the serious pro machine to have Jon, superior design, " arm and a leg " indeed so sir, had my Numatic George since 2007 the very early days of detailing world and still like new. 👍

Fu*king love this channel. Just ordered this to mod my VAX which has been sitting doing nothing since the original nozzle broke. You are a legend mate, keep the great content coming!

Jon what can I say it’s an absolute delight watching your videos. Also enjoying your little backing tracks too. Can you educate me on the tracks/albums etc please? Also given the theme of the music you tend to use have you watched Yellowstone series?

The Vax Rapide Ultra 2 W90 has an integrated water feed in the extraction hose, as well as a very streamlined extraction head with a brush just behind the front edge for agitating products. It’s an upright carpet vac intended for carpets but I’ve never struggled using the hose attachment in cars. Definitely worth a look.
May even be worth buying the hose and head to see if you can modify it to fit your current machine.

Just bought a Rug Doctor Spot Cleaner over the weekend and the spray hose is integrated in the suction hose. £150 from Argos and it’s brilliant 👌

Hi John, i'd try fitting an elbow connector instead of a straight one to take the wet hose away from my hand operating then round onto the hose proper. maybe use a few cable ties to neaten things up. But it's all about adapting and improvising John. Thanks for the video. Stay safe and keep up the good work.

My mum bought one of those VAX machines and it has just been sitting in the loft. Might give it a try wet vacuuming if it has the attachments

What you need is self amalgamating tape. It's waterproof, very stretchy and used to seal electrical joint and repair water leaks.

I know it’s on the expensive side but the RugDoctor has a fantastic hand tool attachment. Water spray hose is integrated within the extraction hose. It’s a great machine. Bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut for cleaning cars perhaps.
Hope your good john.

In the USA they have one from Bissell SpotClean Pro Heat that has been working great for me. I bought for $99 with Heat. Although it’s probably made in China you can get on amazon and it’s been great for me.

How about slicing the small black plastic pipe back (the plastic coming out the nozzle) tap the plastic to fit a thread, then use a brass fitting (nipple) to screw in and connect pipe. looks like it could give you a couple of inches off that part sticking out. maybe even try and find a 90 degree brass fitting to run the pip up the side.

I have a 6131 and it's excellent, and i've been wondering about how to get a bigger hand tool for the same i'm not sure i want to butcher mine.

I did have one years ago on an older similar vax that i bought, but since i bought the 6131 i have never been able to find the same tool!

This is exactly the solution I need. I’ve just bought a second hand vax and it doesn’t have the small wash tool. I was wondering if this could be done and you’ve done it!! Does the vax hose fit fish on the George without a second adapter al be it not perfect?

Hey John, very elegant heck! Looks like OEM to me. What I have noticed is your way of cleaning the carpet. When cleaning carpets, interior etc. I use a spray bottle of diluted classic carpet cleaner, spray the surface and work it with a brush. Afterwards I use the wet vac filled with warm water which is used to dilute and extract the cleaner and dirt. I used this technique last year for the first time and it worked very well. I think it is important to work the cleaner into the fabric, let it work for 1-2 minutes and remove as much cleaner as possible afterwards. What is your way of cleaning carpets, seats etc.?

The rug doctor spot cleaner hose is internal to the flexi pipe works well

The numatic nozzle has always been my favoured wet vac tool, but instead of shampooing using the trigger, I found a pre mix spray of shampoo applied to upholstery followed by agitation using the end of extraction duck or brush and just put water through the tool to rinse and remove any dirt so lessening any chance of soap rings left on top of seats when dry, plus the less u wet the seat the better result, I found the karcher extraction tool far too rigid and brittle

I'm working in a similar project, converting a shop vac into an extractor. I have a diy pre filter bucket that has kept me from having to clean my shop vac or vac filter for months. Essentially all I need now is a nozzle. If you could use any nozzle, what would you recommend?
