I love how hand made and genuine UK houses are. In North America its just wood, drywall and a whatever is easiest for the roof. There is no brick laying and individual tile placement. Refreshing and very entertaining watching this!

Hi Matt, I’m sure you had to think about it. DO NOT INSTALL A HEAT PUMP. Please go with oil, natural gas, or lpg. It will be so worth it I promise. I moved into a self build house before Christmas and I had heating set to 20.5 and hot water. I received a bill for 4 months of electric. It was £3, 400!!!! I called the technician out straight away and he changed a few things and basically said that it has to work harder in winter and that’s why I have the high bill. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME MATT!!!! PLEASE GO WITH GAS. USE A HAIRDRYER TO HEAT THE HOUSE IF YOU HAVE TO. I’m getting gas piped into the house on Friday, cannot wait 😊😊

Are you getting solar (sorry if I missed it). A house of your size and having a pool it makes a lot of sense. Our solar panels takes a huge load off and we're able to keep the pool warm throughout the year, we also have a sauna that we can keep running. It's dropped our electricity bill by a few £k per year.

Jeez, respect to the roofers! That's some labour just getting the tiles up there. Matt, was that your hand on the close up placing 2 tiles, just so you can tell the grandkids, 'I helped build that', lol
