Is Marvel Finally Doing a Reboot? - IGN Conversation

With the big Secret Wars news hitting today, we discuss how this might mean Marvel Comics' first reboot is coming.

Marvel Predictions:
1). The X-Men will be pushed back and the Inhumans will become Marvel's go-to superhero team (besides the Avengers).
2). This new universe will neatly parallel itself with the MCU.
3). More X-Men and F4 characters will be killed off, having a less of chance of return (depending on popularity).
4). Marvel will make Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver Inhumans and destroying all connections to Magneto.
5). Marvel will change the identity of Iron Man and it not being Tony Stark.
6). Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel will be more in the spotlight.
7). Any character being confused as either having close ties or relations with X-Men or F4 will be addressed and will detach itself from the X-Men/F4.

Additions as of Feb. 2015
8). Spider-Man will now have a more relevant presence than ever before.

Sounds like a good idea for a video game concept, but not a brand new comic book universe, and I don't care what they say its a fucking reboot.

My own predictions is that Marvel will repeat the infamous New 52 formula and we would get three universes merged in one; the first one would be Earth-616, the second would be the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610), and the third one would be a guess (Spider-Gwen's universe? MC2? Earth X? 2099?)

Please just end the Marvel Universe, It's too complicated, too convoluted. Start a new universe, with less in it at first so it's easier to follow the plot, give it clear rules and stick to them.

It's more of a relaunch than a reboot, all the history of characters are still there. But they are also going to introduce new characters.

Seems like they might throw a few characters into the blender to make unified versions of Iron Man and Cap. It'd be a pretty easy way to pull out. Just be like, "Oh no! The Battle World is breaking down! Reality can't handle having more than one version of a character in the same universe! All the Iron Mans have melded into one Iron Man!"

Marvel Now/ earth 616 is a reboot but all new all different is another reboot but most people say it's not really a reboot

This is just Marvel/Disney's way to get the rights back so they can get the movies made the way they want to make them.
