Watch me shill for Phase 4 for 40 minutes:

It's no secret that Marvel is working on some Young Avengers something but it's unclear what that will actually be. So as a first step let's figure out which Young Avengers make sense on the team and who else might be coming soon?

I think we are underestimating how willing Marvel is to let some of these characters just continue on as loose ends

Here is my one issue. Unlike comics the MCU is dealing with real kids who really age. By the time they start a champion show/movie most of the established kids you mentioned will age out of that group.

It’s honestly astounding that Marvel introduced a ton of Young Avengers without planning a Young Avengers property.

The biggest problem I have with most of these young characters is that they all have the same personality, they're all snarky, quirky and arrogant. Disney writes every teenager the same way, so there's no room for nuance and therefore I have no interest whatsoever in a team with them.

Young Avengers vs Pet Avengers in phase 7, obviously.

"Kid Loki is also part Frost Giant..."

Why does everyone forget that LOKI IS FULL JOTUNN?! Loki was born a Frost Giant RUNT glamoured by Odin to look Asgardian/Aesir when he rescued him from his abandonment. When Loki got grabbed by a Jotunn in Thor 1 when he goaded Thor into infiltrating Jotenheim, the glamour was interrupted and he turned BLUE. When he freezes Heimdall with the Casket of Ancient Winters after he learns his heritage, he turns BLUE.

One of the biggest letdowns of the Loki show was that not _one_ of the variants was in his native skin. I would have _much_ preferred following an abandoned Jotun runt that was secretly raised in obscurity on his home planet and still became a mischievous mage and marauder than freaking Sylvie. Would have been such a cool contrast to see someone who grew up ignorant to hating his heritage and shunned by his adoptive society for his sensibilities against a BLUE version of himself who only knows of his heritage and how his native society shunned him for his disability/deformity, and how BOTH their experiences pushed them towards magic and cunning to survive and thrive. What a MISSED opportunity.

for some reason I feel like they managed to convince a bunch of young actors to sign contracts they won't be able to get out of

My only problem with most of this is, these kids won't stay kids forever.

If Marvel wants any chance at making even TWO movies about "Young" Avengers, they needed to start filming yesterday.

I’d never thought of this before, but man the blip worked out surprisingly well to avoid needing to reference COVID

Realistically, Nando probably giving it more thought than Marvel will.

I once saw a comment saying that some of the new younger female characters will meet each other and their interactions will consist of outnerding and out-quipping each other with quirky tech genius teenager humour (looking at you, Cassie)

Hailee Steinfeld is already Scarjo's age from Iron man 2. She herself looks like a grown up ready to be on a main team

The problem with every single one of them is that they have no flaws, everything they do is written with perfection because teenagers seems to know more than adults and can out fight them too. If these kids are the face of the future the future is DoA.

Now that Jeremy Renner is essentially retiring Hawkeye from Marvel, I could see Yelena Belova Training Kate Biship a bit.

Thank you for remembering the Champions exist and not just putting all of the kids in the Young Avengers like everyone else 🙏

I love when Nando gets casually snarky about bad writing decisions

Scott and Hope aren't married but they are an established couple and have been so since the blip, which was a couple of years prior to the events of Quantumania at this point. Cassie has clearly spent a lot of time learning from Hank, he even made her a suit, so they are close. Given her father's relationship to Hank's daughter, even if they aren't married she could see Hope as a stepmother and by proxy Hank and Janet as Step-Grandparents, and she refers to them as such. It really isn't that weird.

The line about thor getting dumber with the shot of his 'disguise' from Ragnarok was a great combo

I feel like by the time we get a Young Avengers project most of the actors and actresses will be in their 20s to 30’s they might call it “Champions”.

They could adapt them perfectly by using the “The Children Crusade” storyline with Wanda
