NEW Smart Home Gadgets in 2021 (Part 2)!

The smart home products market has absolutely exploded in mid-2021 and I'm here to show you all the best new smart home gadgets in 2021. This month, we've found a number of products from Amazon, including their new Echo Show 5 and 8, plus a Kids Edition of the Echo Show 5.

I'll take you through new products from Philips Hue, but if you're in North America there isn't much to buy today. YoLink brought us a new set of outdoor products, including their outdoor motion sensor and outdoor motion controller for a Siren. Combine those two, and no one is entering onto your property!

Another nice and useful video, Brian. You're on a roll! I'm beginning to feel we have an increasing number of solutions in search of problems. As someone who loves drones of all types, I'm still waiting to be notified that the Ring indoor drone is being released which was supposed to have happened by now. I'm also anxious to see what Amazon Sidewalk actually does for us with their long-range radio in the new Echo Show 10 and maybe the newest big round Echo. Is it LORA? Will it be compatible with LORA? Meanwhile, YoLink is doing great with their products that give capabilities for folks with large yards, outbuildings, and even homes with spotty WIFI/ZIGBEE/ZWave coverage. You have me woried a bit 😅. Are we going to be able to use custom device handlers in future with Smartthings? I have many devices (around 30 i think) which are using custom device handlers atm, are they going to become unusable with Smatthings hub?

Amazon Still no THREAD support? Wonder if that will happen in the new hardware mid Autumn or winter?

Unfortunately, amazon has so many software problems right now that I do not see myself purchasing any echos ever again. If google would just include a device with a zigbee hub I'd switch right away.
One thing I never see on any youtube tech review is the downsides of products, specifically on the software side. Someone needs to step up and shine a light on all these glitches and put some pressure on companies to make things better.
