Visual Note-Taking Guide with Scrintal (Mind-Mapping & Zettelkasten App)

I usually use text-based note apps like Loseq and Obsidian. But it's said that our brains can process visuals up to 60,000 times faster than texts. Though this number is debatable, there are many benefits to adding visual elements to your notes. In this video, I try the visual note-taking method by Scrintal, which is one of the most popular visual note-taking apps.

Great explanation. Clear and simple. Quite useful for those who would like to be more visual in their note-taking and don't know how 🙌

I too am looking forward to Scrintal. I’m on the waitlist. Hopefully it turns out great and I’m excited to try it. Too bad google keep can’t do the same thing. I feel like it’s so close but google isn’t interested in this space as of yet it seems. Heptabase is an alternative for now but it’s costs a little. There’s also Tiago Forte’s channel where he has suggestions for types of apps. Maybe it’s was three posts ago, but he mentions several visual note taking apps. Maybe link some of those Shu =) keep it up!

A Download link to a web app, that is not not yet available for most people and require to be on a waiting list! No clear define price or premium features yet. Still the product look awesome and exactly what I have been looking for yet execpt for the fact taht is is web based, a huge problem with the website is taht you speedup your access to it through referal which is extremely scummy as a way to promote a web app that mostly only youtuber and influencer currently have acces to.

Have you tried Whimsical and if so how does Scrintal compare to Whimsical?

Why do you say that scrintal is one of the most popular apps when it is just accessible for a few selected users ?. 🤣

Visual Notetaking is a dead end. It's researched for the last 30 years i'm following it and it just doesn't work well beyond a simple example and maybe high school sized task and knowledge. For everything else it becomes a total mess. It's nice to focus a few parts but in the end, what you end up when you have more than a few hundert items is just: Lists and Outlines. Thats the way to organize.

It's a bit gamification just like the otherwise worthless Knowledge Graph you find in Obsedian or all the hunderts of failed mindmapping tools.
