Folks - Please no more comments on me being "woke". My comments in this video were purely meant as a light hearted attempt at some humour - clearly my attempt at irony failed!!

Went for a haircut after watching this video. Came back via the triumph showroom. One test ride later, found my next bike. Muchas gracias.

SHE is always a reference to objects of “transport” . As in she sails beautifully, she drives like a dream . It is a term of honour, respect and endearment .

One thing I love about bikes in the lower price categories is that they don't load them up with superfluous crap. Simplicity is appealing.

I have a 400x and have just come back from leading a tour in wales with it. There were k1600, 1250rt, Suzuki 1000, MT09 Ducati It was in front leading without holding the rest up, at times the throttle was to the stops, I had so much fun riding it hard ( licences loosing on my other bikes BMW 1200 GSA. And RT)
I had a ball, the only small thing on Motorway a little vibration at above 70. What’s not to like, it’s great ! I would recommend to anyone. I have been riding for 50 years training advanced and track skills, what a great fun bike 3000 miles done no problem Steve Riches Moto Road Trip. Great review of the speed 400

Triumph have played a blinder with the 2 400’s, affordable, simple, great looks and lightweight. Great review as usual.

Looks really good, nice and simple, the way all bikes were once upon a time.

Twin analogue clocks would be the icing on the cake😊

She's a beauty ! Cracking little bike, I've had many great memories on relatively low powered bikes in the past 👍🏻

You seemed to be genuinely enjoying that ride. Nice cheerful video- just what we need for a Saturday morning.

I'm one of the first to take delivery in the States. It's a great little bike. I've been riding since the mid 1960s and have watched motorcycles gain a bunch of weight. A modern day Bonneville is more than 100 pounds heavier than its 60s counterpart. I wanted a lightweight machine that could get out of its own way, , and the Speed 400 fills the bill perfectly. After my big and fast (and heavy) Hondas and Yamahas, it's a real breath of fresh air to ride a bike that responds instantly and predictably to your inputs. You really do feel like a better rider on this thing.

Fantastic bike riding one my Honda XBR500 single ( with raised bars and 44hp) still felt great with a few more vibes. Honda did it 40 years ago and now Triumph have perfected it. Who needs more than 40hp on modern roads when its only 170kg ? Excellent work International machine in design and build.

As a female rider I've had most of my friends tell me I should refer to my bike as a boy, but I've never really wrapped my head around calling a vehicle any kind of gender- feels like I'm missing out a bit, really! 😆 I think there's a world of difference between calling a machine "her" and using it as an excuse to make sexist jokes- and frankly, I think most people can recognise the difference. Never had any trouble with how people refer to their bikes, and your language has always been very respectful 🙌 thanks for the review! I'm a bit sad this didn't release a few years ago, because I think I would've LOOVED one when I first got my licence

This would be a good option for one's (ok my) fast approaching senior years. Lightweight, so easy on the creaking joints, cheap to own but still fun and quality enough for pride of ownership.

I bought one and it has been a great relationship. A very fun and capable little bike for riding around the city.

Thanks for a great review. Been doing the research for a while. Test rode one today. Perfect for me. Done the fast bikes over the years. Now in late sixties with two arthritic knees just a sunny weekend rider so perfect for me. Cheap to insure and maintain as well. Money paid. Collect in a couple of days. Thanks. Ride safe.

Hi Andy, glad you have finally got round to reviewing the 400 sport. I have owned the 400 X scrambler for several months now, equally as impressive as the sport 400. The scrambler is more suited to the taller rider as the seat hight is around 835mm. I just love the bike, so impressive and a joy to ride. Great review and thanks Andy

Oh, this might just be my next bike! I have an R1200S - a great bike that I’ve had for over 12 years, but as I hit my mid 70s, it’s getting a wee bit heavy for me. Something fun, all-day comfort, lighter than my current bike, yet suitable for a tour. Sounds perfect. Might call in to my local Triumph dealer next week.

Edit: I’ve been for a run to Old Warden airfield (the Shuttleworth Collection), and the problem is, I just love the R1200S (not GS - mine is the rare sports bike that BMW only made for just over a year). I was getting over a bout of covid when I found it a real struggle to push out onto the road. Today, I managed ok. Hmmmm… think I’m keeping it a bit longer. But I’ll still try for a test ride on the Triumph 400.

It looks like a great little bike. Could be my 60th birthday present to myself.
