D’Alembert’s Formula

We derive the celebrated D'Alembert's formula, which gives the solution of the wave equation with initial conditions. It is based on first finding the general solution using the factoring or coordinate methods and then plugging in the initial conditions, as well as integrating and using the fundamental theorem of calculus. I had to look up what Utt notated. Never saw that notation used before.
It is just the second partial derivative of U with respect to t. Now the rest makes sense.
