I went to read the article he wrote; it was about a then newly deployed measure of "Natural amenities" that pertain to the physical rather than the social or economic environment. The "amenities" being measured were:

1. mild, sunny winters.
2. temperate summers.
3. low humidity.
4. topographic variation.
5. access to a body of water.

This goes to snow that it's not all about where you live, it's abouthow well you live there.

As a Minnesotan, Minnesota is really pretty, tho it's cold and snowy half the year it's such a happy and fun place!!

Growing up in the deep south I had always heard 'southern hospitality', but as I've gotten older and traveled through the majority of this country I've amended it to 'small town hospitality'. Some of the nicest and most welcoming people I've ever met were from northern towns and villages.

They really showed him! They didn't harrass or insult him, they just showed him how amazingly kind they can be! That's how to truly prove someone wrong.
Technically they didn't prove him wrong though, they just proved that statistics aren't everything when it comes to analyzing something.
