That was very, very tricky. I definitely had to follow the introduction exactly in order to have a basic understanding as to how this works. Now I might be able to setup something I've been banging my head against my desk for over two and a half hours trying to figure out. Thank you, hopefully this helps.

I would love to see a video on this, creating less random patterns and more purposeful patterns, maybe some sort of hard surface panels, or something that can generate a function for a more scalable / reusable workflow

Please more lessons on Fx Map. Make a good course, with the export of external parameters. Completely from beginning to end. Thank you.

I always feared the FX map, but after watching this and playing a bit with it, it's so much fun! next up is the pixel processor.. :X
Thanks Vincent :]

Enjoyed every minute of it. Using math functions to further enhance the FX-Map is very interesting. In the last example it should have been the bottom part divided by the top part I think. At least in the Splatter Circular there is a function there which uses this technique but far more complicated.

Thanks! I'm totally new In SD, but I'm familiar with shader creation in UE4 a bit, and I think I'll love this piece of software

Great stuff. Thanks! One thing tho: Making it 1080p would help a lot in readability of the nodes sockets.

For the circle example I think one thing missing is it's not sufficient to know which iteration you are on. You also need to know total iterations requested. Iteration 4 is on one angle in a 6 iteration circle and on another angle in an 11 iteration circle.

This seems to have been made a while ago, and I believe the part around 40:00 about defining variables in Color / Luminance t use them below might not be true anymore. I found I was able to set variables below, and access them above.

From the result of what I experimented, the last function can be achieved by $number*2Pi/iteration number then "cartesian"

The greatest mysteries of all times... Did anyone managed to get last part working?

On that last example, will there still be a tutorial for something like that ?

Unfortunately the video very blurry, so it's hard to read anything. But thank you anyway

about the last fx map, the circular pattern, it's a mess. it would be bettern not showing anything

Bit of a mediocre video if you ask me; nothing gets actually explained.. all that is happening is that we're shown some basic functions and operations. Customizing a node isn't all too hard, but knowing _why_ to do something is gold. Yet that doesn't get addressed here at all.
