This is one of the biggest parts of motorcycling being almost like therapy. Clutch, throttle, and brake all wanting your full attention. Being truly one with a machine. My greatest moments of clarity came to me during a good ride.

Man, after a year of riding, I finally figured out what that lever thing was for, thanks yammie!

So I squeeze the left lever and turn right hand and make sure I'm in a school residential area to hit some speedbumps

I’ve been riding on and off for almost 30 years and I’m excited to watch this video. You are never too old to learn something new.

I've only ever driven manual cars, so figured it would pretty much be the same but wanted to get a sense of the controls of a bike before the MSF course. Thanks Yammie!

I could not understand this. Could you present this information in a numbered list. Top five preferred.

Exactly how I taught my son. Using the clutch. He'd never driven a stick shift on a car yet either, so didn't know what the clutch was all about. Now he do. Probably by the time my grandkids learn biking, if ever, , , , we'll probably be in all electric bikes. No clutch. Thanks Yam.

All these beginner videos are great and have been extremely helpful. I think the anxiety with starting riding for me was not learning the controls but that moment when you leave your home green as on a brand new bike and getting somewhere safely to practice.

Taking the MSF course was my first time ever riding a motorcycle, seemed pretty easy they way they walk you through it one step at a time. Because I never had any previous experience I never picked up any bad habits, it was an eye opener to see experienced riders in my class fail during the two riding sessions.
To any new rider looking to take the MSF course, my best advise would be forget what you think you know and listen and do what the instructor says and you'll do just fine.

By the way I was sick as a dog throwing up both days and it was pouring outside on the second day during the riding test, and here I am 15 year's later and about to buy my third bike.

Theres been a few times during some 'spirited' accelleration moments that I switched up a gear and I could tell I was late on the clutch. Triumphs are truly great to learn on.

I only began riding a clutch transmission bike for about four months now and have gotten used to it. Thanks for this vid, it helped a lot. By any chance, a video series on teaching beginner riders on getting used to their bikes would be awesome. I never knew you could do clutchless shifts, I learned something cool today

I’m 53, starting 3-Day MSF course tomorrow. Feel like a kid in a candy store! I’ve driven lots of standard vehicles so can’t wait for some clutch action and some no clutch action as well! See ya on road 🏍!!

I haven’t started riding yet (gonna be starting the MSF course after tour next month) but your videos have been INCREDIBLY helpful in kind of showing me what I can expect and to give me some early knowledge into the ins and outs of riding a motorcycle. Thanks for that.

Thanks for the video Yamm, helped me a lot. I have just started ridding and kept stalling when starting all the time. I am now going much more smoothly (not perfectly) and much happier.

Just got an MT-03 as my first bike and my dad has been teaching me to ride in a parking lot. The clutch has by far been the most difficult part of learning. You have to really treat it gently on the takeoff or you'll kill it. Up hill and down hill starts especially since you're on the brakes too (these got me mad because everyone driving by could see me kill it). Hopefully in a couple weeks I will be able to get my motorcycle license. Great vid!
