@TheOrganicChemistryTutor I appreciate your knowledge, sir! However, the reason you got 0 for the answer was not because of the way the set was itself shaped. You took sum(x-x_bar) all throughout x which can be rearranged into sum(x) -n(x_bar) which is sum(x)-sum(x) and so, no matter what you take, the average deviation will be zero. And this actually makes sense, because on average, the terms always stay on the midvalue, and so if you take the average deviation with respect to mid value then it will always be 0 as it never deviates from the midvalue
