Awesome topic! I didn’t know gem dragons even had so much lore built in. I love the neutrality aspect as I never really understood the point of the chromatic/metallic division. That idea of a gem dragon raising a white dragon to be good is really inspiring too. Wish I thought of it when I was making my Icespire Peak videos!

Maybe WotC is planning an expansion with psionic classes and subclasses, since there's already a bunch of UA about it. I'd love to see gem dragons make a return if that were to happen.

Primary dragon types are gemstone, precious metallics, ferrous metallics, primary chromatics, secondary chromatics (this one's up in the air but it's heavily implied tiamat had a sibling that inbodied brown, purple, yellow, and gray), and asian dragons

Now I want to do. A side quest where the town reports a black dragon nearby. As the party approaches it in battle, it let's out a fire breath attack. Then I bask in the confusion that's going on.

Currently thinking of running a Moonshae campaign, (not really up to the planning stage yet, but I have some ideas), and listening to those dragons, "oooh cool I have to think about adding one in that campaign I wonder who will fit", and you're like "Raulothim is a known Faerunian emerald dragon, he lived around Rauthym, which is one of the larger islands north of the Moonshae Isles"
