How AI is transforming our computing and software

As part of our effort to build increasingly capable and general AI systems, we’re making computing more powerful and sustainable. Our AI models AlphaZero and MuZero are expanding their capabilities to help optimise data centres, streamline video compression, and discover new algorithms to accelerate software. But this is just the beginning: we envision a future where more general-purpose AI tools can help optimise the entire computing ecosystem that powers our digital world.

This feels like a clip from a dystopian future sci-fi movie.

Was this video AI generated by any chance? Maybe it's just the artistic style of the video but I have a feeling it also may have been a test of a new 'something'-to-video model they're working on.

Today’s date is 11/15/2023. Hopefully by the time you’re reading this it’s no longer 5+ months since the last posted video.

I love how Google can do all this complex AI stuff, but can't make a working calculator.

I am very happy if the Alphazero chess engine participates in the Tcec chess engine tournament ❤

This is a tremendously exciting juncture in the evolution of AI. DeepMind's ground-breaking models, AlphaZero and MuZero, provide a potent demonstration of how AI can not only augment human capabilities but can also redefine the very fabric of computation and software systems.
The success of AI in transforming our digital world will be predicated on a balanced approach that leverages its immense potential while mitigating its risks. The "AI-first" future envisaged by DeepMind is not just about intelligent machines but also about creating a symbiotic relationship between humans and AI, underpinned by trust, transparency, and shared value.

Hey Dr., I belong to India, I am 19 years old now, I want to become a neuroscientist. I want to do mind reading and any data entry in mind.
The way it is done in harddisk. Because mind is the most powerful thing in the world. But we do not know in which branch of 'mind interconnect computer' engineer or neuroscience. (Which branch of medical or engineering should I take admission in?)

Great that OpenAI manage to make you insecure .. competitors bring up the best in you, don't show us a promotional video, show us what you can do to beat them!.

@Google Deepmind Hi there! I live in Sweden And i really liked the chess engine you created.
Could your team start re-working on that engine in order to try to improve it?
In a 1000 game-match, It would be so cool seeing Stockfish's strongest engine VS your improved Alphazero engine.

Nice intro. Where are the best examples? And a few examples just for fun.

computer playing chess, isn't it just the data provided to it by our own and the machine is just trying to check the moves from the existing data set provided by the programmer. I don't think AI is still in process because to be self generative it should not have much knowledge about the things. Ai should learn just like a small baby learns and feeds it his mind and try to advance on its own but by giving all the previous played games and the possibilities this cant as a big memory calling out for the solutions already existing.
