Curious Expedition 2 Review

Curious Expedition 2 is unique enough that it's difficult to characterize in simple terms. It's a mixture of rogue-lite, turn-based dice battler, RPG, board game, storytelling generator, and survival game.

You take on expeditions exploring mysterious islands that appear and disappear amid a strange purple fog. Your group can consist of a variety of individuals with a bunch of varied professions. You can even bring along animals, such as hunting dogs and pack mules, or try your hand at taming more fantastical beasts.

Never heard of this one before but you definitely made it sound interesting thanks to how well your video is made and especially the parts where you talk about wacky scenarios that you played to explain how your actions have consequences in the game.
Adding it to my wishlist !

Great review! Interesting, I didn't have this game on my radar at all, despite being a big Roguelike (and Roguelite) fan.
I definitely didn't expect you to call this one of your favorite games of all time, but that makes it even more interesting of course!
I tried Curious Expedition 1 and couldn't get into it, maybe that was a factor.
I also think Steam reviews of roguelikes can be very misleading, because most people don't use good strategy or a rational mindset when giving a roguelike a thumbs up or down, they say "it's too random" when they don't even think about probabilities, and they remember their bad luck more than their good luck, which is a psychological definite.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to play this now, didn't even have it on my wishlist before. I love (almost) infinitely replayable games with deep systems! And I think you showcased a lot of those aspects very well in this review.

Wow! Amazing review. 👌 Subscription earned. I just seen this game bundled with the DLC on sale for less than $10 and was curious what it was about. Seems like a real hidden gem.
