Things i forgot to mention:

- The dark fluids backpack can be used as very powerful jetpacks
- You complete another main objective by extracting WITH the dark fluid (but you dont need it to win, I haven't tested this, it's what I've seen other users claim)

NGL the extraction being so over the top and outrageously hard is super funny for me, truly feels like Super earth is sending you to the meat grinder and shows how dangerous the colony is, also trying to last as much as possible is a fun way to end the mission

6:32 it's not about damage being corrosive, it's just there is a dwarf inside every drill who got damaged by the gas

Stun grenades, EMS Mortar, EMS Orbital, and don’t damage the drill. Tell the whole squad to bring EMS and stun nades.

You get free ems turrets now. Seems like Arrowhead saw the complaints about the breaches spawning on top of the drill

You're underrating the EAT, especially in any mission, like this one, where you have to defend a location for awhile. The cooldown on EATs is so short that you should be calling it all the time. As soon as you drop, call an EAT and take it with you. When you get to the drill site the cooldown will be up, so call more. Now you have three shots banked. Wash, rinse, repeat until the job's done and you go to the next drill. The abilitty to decapitate a Titan with two shots in three seconds instead of twenty five is invaluable!

Crucial and very important detail about the Bug Holes, they serve as spawn points for patrols. So if you destroy all of them you force the patrols to spawn from the map border and not from a bug hole near to you. The actual mechanic around this is actually a little bit more complicated. But in general: A Bug Hole will spawn a patrol near you if you are NOT 75 meters from the Bug Hole.

Useful tips for extracting.

Be inside a mech during extraction. The shriekers will die by ramming into you, and it's absolutely hilarious. I recommend bringing the Patriot because the minigun is a hard counter against them.

Have a shield generator pack. It will be useful to have during the mission anyways plus you can call in extract before it breaks. (If you're quick enough)

Go prone. Yeah, they can't hit you if you're prone.

Smoke grenades, smoke orbital, and smoke eagle are the best things to bring on this mission, even for extract, because the shriekers won't be able to target you and you can easily call in extract and hide in the smoke.

Tower defense style, bring a gatling turret and / or a machine gun turret, they're absolutely useless for drill, but they'll be incredibly useful for extract.

The extract is very easy if you know how to use the dark fluid. The dark fluid is actually a jump pack with insanely fast recharge so you can get from any drill to the extraction site in 5 seconds. The shriekers spawn in as soon as the extraction beacon drops after which you have around 3 seconds before they attack. If you're quick with the code you can enter it before they even reach you. Have a teammate or EMS turret guard the drill while you're sprinting to the extraction site.

Play on T-5. No titans, minimal chargers.
Same progress on the planetary bar.

In addition to the gotlins, I always crawl. You avoid majority of the shriekers just keep an eye out for anything that actually crawls

Dont bring the Autocannon sentry. It kills the drill really quickly

My regular squad and I have successfully extracted on this mission at helldive difficulty. Have one person speed toward extract using the dark fluid jet pack, drop orbital EMS on the beacon, then do your inputs. That person is usually me, and I run the heavy medic armor. The Orbital EMS stuns enough of the shrieked that are close by that you can get the inputs in before dying.

Hey, I use the perma stun strat to solo the conduct geo survey mission XD This was my plan for this mission as well.

Eagle smoke is effective at keeping aggro away from drill as well as it has 3 uses per rearm with upgrade, only need to worry about bile titans as they can easily destroy the drill by just being near it. The smokes makes extraction very doable where your usually not constantly being hit by shriekers waiting for pelican while the smokescreen is there

I have no idea how the hell I was able to do it, but somehow me and most of my team were just able to extract on helldive difficulty... it was mega intense, and it's clear that this mission is made in a way that extraction is not supposed to be successful, yet somehow we freaking did
