In addition to locking the truck from the outside - you had the key fob in your hand outside the you lock your key fob in the truck (Beach or someplace you don't want to take your keys) and you lock it from the outside it disables that keyfob until the unlock code is put into the door.

That isn't a secret hiding spot for your fob it actually has a purpose. If you ever have a low battery on your fob and your vehicle won't start place it there and it will it has RF chip in which will give it enough juice to start it. Also if you ever lose your fob and purchase a new one it's how you program them for your vehicle.

I’ve had my 2019 f350 ultimate sport for almost 3 yrs and never even knew this stuff. I went out and tried it all. Lol

I take a small diameter drill bit and drill into the latch for the seat....attach braided fishing line and attach it to the headrest to make it easier...ive done that on four trucks so far and it works great.
