Sting refused to join WWE for years after a segment involving Booker T and The Rock aired on the August 2nd 2001 edition of SmackDown. That segment was enough to convince Sting that he wasn’t going to sign with WWE and he would avoid the company for years. #foryou #shorts #wwe #foryoupage #wrestling

Not only did he make the right decision, he made a decision for the business. Joined TNA and helped the company reach its early/premature peak. Sting is the man.

A wrestlemania clash between Sting and The Undertaker would've been a blockbuster.

He made the right call and at the same time made TNA relevant

I'm 38 and Sting has been my favorite wrestler since I was a little kid. His morals and integrity couldn't be bought. That's what made him so amazing. For him it wasn't about the money it was always about respect and about his fans. There's very few wrestlers who don't like Sting. The majority have the upmost respect for him

Sting was 100% right. The booking of DDP's WWF run was some of the worst in wrestling history.

DDP joined WWE which saw him leave his WCW lucrative pay to be turned into a stalker in WWE...terrible.

That segment represented exactly what WWE was thinking of WCW talent. He definitly made the right call at the time.

Sting was right, but goddamn it woulda been cool to see him in there with Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane and DX.

Yes he did. He was a loyal WCW employee and didn't want to see the mockery of his former company

Yes, that's why Sting has always had absolute respect from the fans. His morals and loyalty exceeded most in the industry. He could not be bought.

2005 was the right time. Undertaker and Sti g were at their peaks and had a golden opportunity to have THAT Match at Mania.

Sting was right to be apprehensive about joining WWE. Unfortunately he eventually did, and they completely destroyed him and disrespected him. Sting was, is, and will be one the most well known wrestlers for a long time. He always had and still has legions of fans. I always will love Sting.

He was 100 percent right on that decision, especially after what they did to Booker, Steiner, Scott Hall, the NWO, etc. Vince really treated the faces of WCW super poorly.

What Vince did to WCW talent is unforgivable. He could have made *SOOO* much more money if he used them right.

Absolutely!! Sting is a man of integrity.

Sting was absolutely right to not sign with WWE. It was proven that Vince would have buried him then as that’s exactly what he did when Sting finally did come to WWE. That was such a disrespectful run he had.

Sting is a stand up wrestler I appreciate all he did for the wrestling community

A man of honor and integrity. I respect that.

I remember that. Joking or not, it was a total slap in the face for the World Heavyweight Champion Booker T, especially with the size and talent he had.

Considering that sting is my all-time favorite wrestler my childhood hero he absolutely made the right call after vince McMahon's showed how he treated majority of wrestlers in his company like trash. And i don't blame him and quite frankly respect him even more for having morals by not allowing ol vince to make a mockery of him and treat him like dirt like ol vince has done many of wrestlers in the past. In fact sting is one of the few wrestlers in history that didn't need vince McMahon's and the snoozefest wwe vince McMahon's and the snoozefest wwe needed sting.
