Makita sent over the new XGT premium hammerdrill and impact driver kit to review and go over. Let's see what the rest of the world has been talking about with XGT.

Makita XGT 40V tools, the 1st wave, are available for Pre-order now and shipping end of April / beginning of May.

From what I hear, Home Depot will not be selling these in store. It will be available in specialty tool stores and for online purchasing.

I'm trying to decide between Makita XGT and Flex 24v. I'm wanting to get a hammer drill and either a recip saw or a jigsaw. Which brand should I go with? I like the power for the money that Flex gives you, but the Makita stuff is relatively tried and true, and it seems like they've got much better fit n finish.

I see a Flex turbo drill in the background, lets get a head to head so that I can pick from the two drills im considering at the moment.

That is interesting, so while the FLEX is definetly using a rotational sensor for its kick back technology, it appears Makita is somehow tieing there's into the electronic clutch. Must be that it can sense the torque to some extent for the electronic clutch and cut off, so I'm guessing it catch a high torque load that would come in quickly and shutoff the power to avoid tearing a wrist.

Looks solid. But man, they can't throw in a 4 Ah battery?!

I *really* hope we get an oscillating tool on this platform. Maybe a router or orbital sander. None on the horizon that I can tell.

7:01 Haha, you need a fast twisting speed. It is hard to activate the anti-kickback function with one hand. I have never succeeded with one hand🤧 Occasionally success with two hands😳
If I attach the grip, I can easily activate the anti-kickback function😹😹😹

someone answer this, Why in the world did Makita waste time on a 40 volt and not at least a 60 volt to compete with Dwalt Flex Volt. Why not be super power full like 120 volt bad boy..
