I remember rules we had to learn.
1. Never ever answer to the voice that asks you a question or calls you by name in the dark. especially if it's a familiar voice or even your own voice.
2. Avoid caves or ruins, especially at dark times.
3. If you must sleep outside because of circumstances, it is best to sleep in a graveyard compared to ruins or caves.
4. If you sit in one place and you hear a voice or laugh, don't fall asleep and try to get away from there as soon as possible.

This last one happened to my mother's oncle. He was working as a farmer and had to open and close the water path to his farm. After he opened the water path to his field, he fell asleep. He was woken by a sound calling his name. He saw around the field and saw no one. Once again, he fell asleep, and then something touched his shoulder and called his name with a laughter. Once again, he isn't able to spot anything or anyone around him.
The third time, while he was awoke, something hit him hard in the head with the same laughter. He lost his eyesight in one of his eyes because of that strike.
Everyone was convinced that he was striked by an entity called "Murduzma". In dari/ persian It's written as follow: " مردازما".
This thing can shapeshift and transform itself into animals or objects. I have seen american soldiers telling stories from their time in Afghanistan and what they saw or heard in the dark, and most of the time, this entity is to be blamed.

Spent a year in Afghanistan and I have never been anywhere else on earth that gives off the weird energy that Afghanistan gives off.
Genghis Khan and mongols couldn't take it over, Alexander the great never conquered it all, The Russians failed miserably. Americans couldn't do nothing.

My father and mother grew up in hazarajat mountainous parts and centeral Afghanistan, Daikundi, daizingi, lal sir jungle. He has worked in different parts as farmer, as shepherd, as ston mason with my uncle (his younger brother). He is around 75 yrs old now. Still sane and told me about his encounters many times before but i never believe in him as this is illogical, one thing that confuses me, my father doesn't bluff and my father is serious, he, my mom and even my uncle have not only same opinion but claim to be eye witness and strongly believe in such things.
Same thing i heard when asked from many other people over the age of 65, they say they had problems with them killing their live stocks in the village. They say these things were happening until russians with cars and military technology used to visit for some kind of research, wewere told that they are researching for oil. then, the creatures disappeared according to time as modernisation spread in Afghanistan during 50s to 70s. But any one up-to 50 yrs don't have much info but their parents used to tell stories and lost their siblings or cousins while dealing with these creatures.
They call "al khato" tall ugly woman, with long hairs, long claws . Eats babies, death babies or live stock babies. Or suck blood. They either laugh or cry. When they cry, you have to give her a bowl of milk, she will leave without curse. But if you attack her, she will run away but will curse you, her curse is irreversible.
"jins" they r short look like kids, passes through walls. Shape shifting ability, some even live with in humans as muslims, worldwide secret society. U can only recognize them in reflection in mirror, water and no shadows under the sun.
"balah" has human like 2 legs, 2 hands, black hairy body with monstrous face. It eats live stocks, or just kill them and consume their consciousness or soul my father says. Appears only in dark.
"mazdarmayi" it's slidely biger then Human in heights. Has long tail, it very shy creature. Laughs, speaks any voice like humans hiding behind trees to disturb or lure humans. They are naughty and destructive. They don't kill attack humans. They only trick humans, frighten tactics, to steal their live stocks for food.
"Pari" they young ungly girls with wings and long teeths, predator fingers, with shape-shifting ability. They only appear when a young man go in mountains and play flutes. They fall in love music and the flute.
It's said, when men with broken heart (failed lovers) would go among mountains deliberately, so they could speak to a fairy to ease the pain in heart, either fulfil his wish or help him forget the woman he loves.
"Dayw" they are very big in size. only live inside caves, among mountains, they hide from humans because humans have been killing them from thousands of yrs. they used to make noise at some nights. The mountains would have echos with their voices.
My father says, all these creatures, they don't attack on human until human don't attack them. We were living within our limits and terms. But everything were normal as usual. In fact they were afraid of humans. For them human are the monsters, and they think humans are the most cruel deadliest creatures.
As non believer i have tried all scientific questioning and fact, arguing with my parents that these things are not true. But they say, they are eye witnesses, lived in those villages. These things were normal to us but today no body believes. He says, he doesn't think they really exist by now, or might have moved to other parts of the world for their own safety. Bcoz as we see we humans are more powerful with our technology, weapons that can destroy the world with our destructive brains.

My family is from Laos & there is an entire plain of gigantic jars laying around. It is said those jars belonged to the giants that used to live there. There are also gigantic drinking cups & cookware.

I served in Afghanistan. We had been warned not to go into the cave systems that dotted the landscape. Units had come under attack by animals such as bears and wolves. We also heard rumors of red-haired giants. Alot of people in Afghanistan also had red hair from what I saw.

The red haired giants were also mentioned in old Native American book. It spoke about a group of red haired giants taking ppl from the village. The tribe ended up smoking out the giants cave and killing them. Crazy thing is someone found that cave and when excavating it they found 9 foot tall red haired giant remains. I think the woman who wrote the book was a Chiefs daughter or something like that. The cave was found in either Arizona or New Mexico. I can’t remember it’s been years since I heard about it.

On one of my tours there I was in the Paktika province . My team and I came around a bend in a deep river bed within a very secluded area of the mountains. We had been moving for almost two days and had not seen a single person or animal. When we came around the bend we came under ambush. When I began to engage with the 50.cal machine gun (which deep in a canyon is louder than it already extremely is) a large winged figure jumped off a close by peak. It’s wing span was so big that the shadow of it covered the area my vehicle was located as it flew over. Everyone involved in the engagement including the opposition most definitely saw what I did because we all stopped firing our weapons. In that instance I could clearly hear the sound of its wing swooshing above as it flew away. I remember a Afganistán counterpart looking back at me in amazement and my team looking up at me in the turret dumbfounded. I honestly believe it could have been a flying dinosaur.

I am from neighboring and brother country Tajikistan. The country that consists of 93% of mountains, we have plenty of these kind of stories. People living in the villages in mountains take it serious yet respectful. I mean they never try to do anything to attract those creatures or to make fun while telling the stories. They just called them the ‘Parihoi kuh’ Spirits of Mountains. They believe you have to have good deeds, good intention and kind and brave heart living around, otherwise you will be cursed. (Maybe it came from Zaradushtra religion).
I personally think, the mountains are some kind of energy portal between Earth and Cosmos. That’s why places like Tibet, Nepal, Himalaya and Hindukusch are so spiritual.

My dad was stationed in Afghanistan for 2 years and he said night patrols were the scariest part out there. Besides conflict situations of course. But he said not only the fighting and death was a mental battle but also the night's were dreadful.
