It’s never too early for 2023 books! I’ve already started my list of ones to look forward to. Also, I read Ohio a few months ago and it was brilliant. I think you will really enjoy it whenever you get to it.

I'm just about to start Avalon and Carlotta.. It's not too soon to get excited about 2023 books. I have about 8 already on Netgalley/ PS Simon IDK anything about Stasiland but if it details the history of people trying to cross from East to West Berlin when the wall was still up do read it. I grew up there as a child - never thought the wall would come down and went to a museum that was absolutely fascinating about the attempted crossings etc. Decades later I still remember

I think the end of November is the right time to start introducing 2023 books because most of us do not have the spending power to buy books all the time or even every month. Thus, if BookTubers discuss the following years books too early it can often bring about feelings of pressure for those of us who cannot keep up with the latest published books or genre trends. I often find I am just starting to read books in the autumn that many people on YouTube seem to have read earlier in the year or even the year before. The James Hannaham book and the Fever sound the most interesting books to me of all the publishers books you were talking about. Death In Her Hands is great! I loved My Year Of Rest And Relaxation (which I read this year), but The Vegetarian, Cold Enough For Snow and Diary Of A Void were favourites of mine this year. Simon, this was a really good review with some good recommendations, there are lots of books that sounded like my kinds of read. I don’t think I could ever read as many books as you do in one month though.

I definitely support you reading Death in Hands this autumn - I’m about to reread it because I think it’s amazing and a perfect fall book!

I love all the books you talked about. I buy so many books that I want to read that I am about five years behind in my reading. I'm still buying books though.

I'm yet to read an Ian McEwan, I've never really know whether he is an author for me or not. The cover for Our Share of Night is incredible! I recently picked up the LaPierre novel too! Though I keep buying these large books though and am rarely in the mood to read them. Very excited to hear your thoughts on the Seán Hewitt memoir, I loved it so much.
You are the second person to talk about Bath's book shops this week and its making me really want to visit!

I'd say December is the perfect time for 2023 books, so we know what we can look forward to reading in the new year.
I read both Reprieve and Diary of a Void this summer and finished both it in one sitting. Reprieve instantly got me hooked and Diary of a Void was just so intriguing, so I hope you enjoy both of those too!
On a slightly unrelated note, I'm currently reading Ghosted by Jenn Ashworth after hearing you recommending it (which might've been a wrap up or haul video?). I'm 150 pages in and loving it so far! Definitely not something I would have picked up by myself, as the cover reminds me more of a horror novel, so thank you for recommending this!
