Delboy3k1 Film Retrospective and Unboxing - Biggles: Adventures In Time (1986)

Welcome to an ongoing series of what could be called my Capsule Film Reviews

This one is "Biggles : Adventures In Time" from 1986 directed by John Hough and starring Neil Dickson, Alex Hyde-White and Peter Cushing.

I look back at this film with fondness but most probably due to being in my mid teens at the time. Its got everything a young boy would want in regards to Action, Time Travel, War, Battles etc and a little something for the ladies with the chiseled looks of Biggles himself. It even had a computer game based on the film so a double bonus.

That being said, its a cheesy film really, quite poor with special effects and the plot has holes like swiss cheese, but there is a heart to it which if you can look at it with child eyes you can get major enjoyment from it.

Enjoy this film then which is fun rather than great and marvel at the special effects which were filmed very well indeed.

Really don't know why I haven't got this on Blu-ray as I like time travel films. £9 on Amazon is a no brainer.

Love how you've tied the game in with the film, hope to see more examples of that.
I'm sure Mark from Twentieth century gaming has longplayed this.

This was a film I never got round to Del, as a kid Biggles books and comics weren't what I was reading, so I dismissed the film, but hearing it's a time travelling story makes it sound like an interesting watch 🤔🤔🤩🤩👍👍

Can't ever recall seeing Biggles. Might have to track it down if I can find it cheap.

One film that you've reminded me of which I'd love to revisit/find a bluray of is High Road To China starring Tom Selleck. Another bi-plane movie that I remember really enjoying.

I only found out about the film from a 4K fan restoration on here then stam fine done a video about it then i searched it up here and found your fab video

It's a movie that I distinctly remember having no interest in when it came out when I was around 12 years old. I'm not sure why. Haven't seen it in years and would have only watched it on a terrestial TV viewing. Will definitely add it to the list. Cheers.
