Why I Never Tilt

'Tilting' - the act of getting so angry that you lose control - is one of the biggest problem many people face when playing online multiplayer games. In this video, I share some of the mentalities I use to counter tilting to the point where, I hope, you may never tilt and lose control ever again.

How DARE you come at a video game community with a reasoned approach and your "facts" and a healthy attitude for gaming. :P <3

That stick figure's head looks a little off-centered.

In other words, _tilted._

As a recent open queue player, I feel like I need this

The thing that makes me angry is when other people get angry. I can't stand it when people start accusing others especially

This video is so necessary for the community. I keep saying all these things and players still are not conviced. Great job.

First words of this video were "people often ask me"

I was disappointed you didn't explain escape velocity to me.

I find I get most tilted when I feel that I'm not performing to my potential; I feel like i could be doing so much better but for whatever reason I can't. That's what tilts me over the moon. I couldn't care less about rank.

This is grate advice I am quite a stable player like 80% of the time and I'm sure this will help me iron out the rest of my troubles

You can never depend on one sole aspect defining your worth, especially if it's superficial. Because the moment that lone pillar shakes, your entire self shakes with it.

My biggest problem currently is that I don't have enough energy. Playing my best is really really draining and after a few hours I just play bad. And that tilts me, my own inability to play good for longer, bc I know I need to invest alot of time if I wanna climb/get better, and I just don't have enough. :S

4:02 - 4:20 favorite quote here.
"why would you focus on the things out of your control, when there's something in your control that you can fix, that could change the outcome of your game"
ML7 is a terrific mentor for the community with this mindset.
also, suggestion: consider changing title to include "overwatch" to help the community find it!

I am usually calm but when people start blaming me even though I am not the one at fault at all just drives me mad and I lose my sht and start being salty

I feel scared to play ranked because I worry about disappointing my teammates by my skill. If I play healer, I’m afraid of not saving the people I could’ve. If I play rank, I feel at fault when I am in the back line and not protecting. When I play damage, I feel responsible when my healers die and I don’t take the other teams healers out. I care about my rank but not as much as disappointing other people.

Excellent video. Emotional intelligence is sorely undervalued nowadays

Just wanted to say a big thank you for this video, it’s helped me so much more than just in game but also in life. I’ve been fighting depression for the last year and a half and it’s really been horrible, so having the perspective of just being better than I was yesterday really means so much to me.

It was just my birthday over the last weekend, and I’m not one to make birthday or new year resolutions, but I told myself that I wanna live this next year of my life with that mentality. I’m gonna go through everyday just trying to be a better person and a healthier me than I was the day before.

Thank you SVB, you’ve made a difference in my life more than you know.

After 400 hours of comp, I'm relaxed as fuck. One of the main skills I learnt over the years is casually playing down a most-likely-lost game and then queueing again as if nothing happened.
